About Newbridge
Independent since 1992
Newbridge Accident Repair Centre is an independent bodyshop. Andy Brown started it in a small Upminster workshop in 1992, and he still owns it, now with sites in Basildon, Dartford and Sydenham.
We've been insurance approved and VBRA members since 2005, and our Sydenham and Dartford sites hold the BSI Kitemark. We offer recovery and courtesy cars, valet every car before it goes back, and guarantee our repairs for as long as you own the car.
Our history
1992Andy Brown starts Newbridge in a small workshop in Upminster.
1997The business grows and the team reaches four.
2002We move to a larger workshop in Basildon, with room for 10 cars instead of 4.
2005We become fully insurance approved and join the VBRA (Vehicle Builders and Repairers Association), where we're still members today. The team grows to six.
2006Another move, to a bigger workshop with room for 20 cars and a team of 12.
2010We move into our current Basildon workshop, repairing more than 50 cars a week with a team of 30.
2012We buy an accident repair centre in Sydenham and open Newbridge London, with seven staff repairing more than 25 cars a week. It has held the BSI Kitemark since the same year.
2015Basildon and London are repairing over 100 vehicles a week between them, with a team of around 50.
2020We open our third site, in Dartford, Kent. It gained the BSI Kitemark in November 2023.
