Car body repairs for Gravesend, 15 minutes up the A2
From Gravesend, Newbridge Accident Repair Centre's Dartford site is about 8 miles and 15 minutes away, mostly on the A2. We do car body repairs there for drivers from Gravesend, Northfleet and Ebbsfleet: accident repairs and insurance claims, including non-fault claims with a replacement car, plus dents, scratches, paintwork and alloy wheels.
There's no Newbridge workshop in Gravesend itself. If you drive to work along the A2 towards London, though, you already pass the junction where you'd turn off for us, twice a day.
Getting to us from Gravesend
- Take the A227 Wrotham Road out of town to the A2.
- Join the A2 heading west, towards Dartford and London.
- Leave at the Bean junction (B255).
- Follow the A296 Watling Street towards Stone.
- Carry on onto London Road. We're on the Dewlands Estate at 94-98 London Road.
That's about 8 miles: 15 minutes with a clear road, longer in the morning rush.
Northfleet and Ebbsfleet are on our side of Gravesend, so you're already part of the way here. From Northfleet, the A226 through Swanscombe and Greenhithe is the other way in, and it brings you onto London Road from the Greenhithe end.
Shunted in A2 traffic on the way to work?
Stop-start traffic on the A2 at rush hour is classic rear-end shunt territory. Someone glances at their phone, and you're left with a cracked rear bumper, a dented boot lid or a tailgate that won't shut properly.
At the roadside, the rules are the same as anywhere. Stop, and call 999 if anyone's hurt or the road is blocked. Swap names, addresses, registrations and insurance details. If you can't swap details there and then, report it to the police within 24 hours.
Once that's done, and if the other driver hit you, ring us before your own insurer. We make the claim against their insurer, so nothing goes on your policy, there's no excess to pay and your no claims bonus stays intact. You'll have a replacement car similar to yours, and it costs you nothing, so the commute carries on while yours is with us. Our page on non-fault accident claims explains the rest.

Accident repairs and other car body repairs for Gravesend
Fifteen minutes is further than the garage round the corner. For an accident repair, though, the car is going to be off the road for a while wherever it goes, and on a non-fault claim you're in a replacement car in the meantime.
The Dartford site holds the BSI Kitemark for Vehicle Damage Repair, which means BSI has independently audited the way we repair cars there. Our accident repairs page goes through fault and non-fault work. On a fault claim, we price the job for your insurer, wait for their go-ahead and then get on with it.
Smaller jobs are worth sorting too, especially before you sell the car. Minor car repairs covers scratches, scuffs, bumper repairs and dents, many of which can be done as a smart repair without painting the whole panel. Deeper scratches get a paint repair, using your car's paint code as the starting point for the colour. Whatever we fix stays guaranteed for as long as the car is yours.
Collection from Gravesend, Northfleet and Ebbsfleet
If you'd rather not bring the car over, we can collect it and bring it back when it's finished. We collect within 20 miles of the Dartford site, which includes Gravesend, Northfleet and Ebbsfleet. Or we can come out to you and estimate the damage, so you know the price before deciding anything.

Questions
01Is there a Newbridge bodyshop in Gravesend?
No. The nearest Newbridge bodyshop to Gravesend is our Dartford site in Stone, on the A226, about 8 miles and 15 minutes away via the A2 and the Bean junction. The site takes on insurance and accident work as well as scratches, dents and alloy wheels, and it holds the BSI Kitemark for Vehicle Damage Repair.
02I've been shunted on the A2. Who should I call first?
Call 999 first if someone is injured or the A2 is blocked. Once you've swapped details with the other driver, and if they were to blame, ring us on 01322 930 719 before your own insurer. We'll make the claim against the other driver's insurer and sort out a replacement car.
03What if the driver who hit me drove off?
Report it to the police straight away, and within 24 hours at the latest. Claims involving hit-and-run or uninsured drivers go through the Motor Insurers' Bureau, and many fully comp policies include an uninsured driver promise, so check yours. Our guide to being hit by an uninsured or hit-and-run driver explains how it works.
04How do I get to work while my car is being repaired?
If the accident wasn't your fault, you'll be given a replacement car like yours, free, until the repair is done. If it was your fault, check whether your policy includes a courtesy car. If it doesn't, ask us when you call: we keep our own fleet of courtesy cars and may be able to help.
05Do you cover Northfleet and Ebbsfleet?
Yes. Northfleet and Ebbsfleet sit between Gravesend and our Dartford site, so you're a few minutes closer than Gravesend town centre. From Northfleet you can take the A2 or stay on the A226 through Swanscombe and Greenhithe, which comes out on London Road not far from us.
